Welcome to Pasea entre “Comillas”: My Story

Hello, I’m Miriam

If you’ve made it this far, you might like Comillas, be thinking about visiting it… or simply want to know who’s behind this project. Whatever the reason, I’d like to tell you how it all began.

I studied Hotel and Tourism Management at the Altamira School of Tourism in Santander, and I quickly discovered that my passion lay in direct interaction with people. During my university internship, I worked as a tourist information officer at the Comillas Municipal Tourist Office… and that’s where it all began.

Those three summers had a profound impact on my life. I not only learned, but I fell in love with Comillas and with a more personal, human, and one-on-one approach to tourism.

Near the end of my degree, an opportunity changed everything: I started working at Gaudí’s Capricho. There I discovered that I not only enjoyed being in front of the public, but also telling stories, conveying them, and making people feel the same way I did when entering a place like that.

I gave tours in Spanish, in English, for groups, families… and I enjoyed each one in a different way. It was there that I confirmed that I wanted to dedicate myself to guiding.

After that, I returned to the Comillas Tourist Office, this time as a Tourism Technician, where I learned everything that goes on behind the counter (which is much more than it seems). And at the same time, I prepared for something very important to me: the exams to become an official tour guide in Cantabria. And yes… I passed them.

At that time, another very special opportunity arose: the company Visita Cantabria gave me the chance to show visitors the Casa del Duque in Almodóvar del Río, which had just opened to the public. It was a unique experience that also made this place one of my favorites in the town.

This year I finished my time at the Tourist Office, bringing to an end a period in which I grew a lot, both personally and professionally.

Today I take another step and embark on my own path.

This is how Pasea entre “Comillas” was born, my personal brand as an official guide of Cantabria, where I offer guided tours in Comillas adapted to all types of audiences, with a friendly and professional approach.

Because Comillas is not just visited, it’s strolled through… and enjoyed.

If you’ve made it this far, thank you. And if you’d like to explore the town (or anywhere else in Cantabria) with me, I’d be delighted to show you around. You can contact me or come visit me at my shop in the Corro de San Pedro.

See you very soon.
